Evaluation Society in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Who we are

The Evaluation Society in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a non-profit professional association established under the applicable laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Volunteers are at the heart of our work.

Membership is open to practitioners, researchers, institutions and organizations engaged in the theory or practice of monitoring and evaluation. It is also open to anyone who commissions or uses evaluations, or wants to learn more about monitoring and evaluation.

If you are committed to better decision-making based on facts and evidence, we invite you to join us.

About eVAL

eVAL has been published continuously since November 2017. It provides an open-access space for original research and evaluations, conference findings, lessons from successful projects, and knowledge accumulated through the work of public institutions, civil society organizations, academia and international organizations.

The publication serves readers interested in socioeconomic development, evaluation, European integration and project development. Articles may be published in Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian or English and are freely available online.

eVAL brings together contributions from experts in their respective fields. We are committed to presenting independent perspectives free from political, partisan or other special-interest influence.

Knowledge. Freedom. Accountability.

Our work is guided by three principles: knowledge as the basis for understanding public issues, freedom to make informed choices, and accountability in the use of public resources and in public decision-making. We regard these principles as essential to sustainable development.

Our objectives

eVAL promotes evidence-informed policymaking, accountability, knowledge and freedom of choice. Our objectives are to:

  1. foster responsible and balanced debate on issues that affect development policy;
  2. provide a platform for research, evaluation findings and methods;
  3. maintain high standards of ethical and expert journalism and produce timely, credible and accessible content;
  4. protect editorial integrity, remain independent of special-interest groups and avoid conflicts of interest;
  5. publish original, relevant and methodologically sound articles on a broad range of development topics; and
  6. inform readers about different perspectives and evidence concerning development issues.
